Do you like Mary sue characters?

I know that Mary Sues are the one who make many of readers rolls eyes and flame the book. But then, one of the most typical Mary Sue: Bella from Twilight series, became loved by many people. It made me curious. There should be a reason why a series with Mary sue - Gary stu love became best seller.
