In any pok�mon game, what happens if each pokemon uses a stat reducing move?

For example, what would actually happen if one pok�mon kept using leer, and the other kept using growl? Aside from each stat being reduced, what would the outcome actually be if they attacked? I just thought about it and it confused me lol
