Could i strap a 14' ish canoe to a 89 buick lesabre roof with no rack?

I wouldn't try it. It would be too easy for it to slip about without a rack. You could mess up the roof of the car and the canoe could possibly come off. IF you do try it you not only need to have it tied down somehow side to side but the front to the front bumper and the back to the back bumper. I'm not sure but someplace like U-Haul might have a rack you can rent.
