Non commissioned officer for the marine corps?

i love the marine corps and want to be a officer but was told about NCO (non commissioned officer) and want to know what rank they start off with and what is your job or duty? i think you just enlist and work from Private from PFC and so on i was hoping you start at corporal and have a shorter distance and if you were wondering why not just become a officer well i was told by former marines to enlist is more fun but if your a leader officer is better i was wondering if this is a way for both? thank you for your time!
